Writers’ Night at the Merc is a (mostly) monthly happy hour where writers and editors socialize, talk shop, and procrastinate over drinks. The evening includes a Special Guest: a writer or editor who will share lessons learned in their field: from what constitutes a killer pitch to the ineffable essence of a well-made paragraph, to the story behind writing a story to, hell, whatever he or she feels like talking to us about. They might even take questions.
June features Special Guests (and Power Couple) Maija Zummo, journalist and editor-in-chief of Cincinnati CityBeat and Zachary Petit, journalist, editor, and author of The Essential Guide to Freelance Writing: How to Write, Work, and Thrive on Your Own Terms, and Treat Ideas Like Cats and Other Creative Quotes to Inspire Creative People.
Reservations requested (so we don’t run out of beverages).
