The Return of Writers’ Night at the Merc: With Special Guest John Fox
Writers’ Night instigator-in-chief Grace Dobush has relocated to Germany, and, after a hiatus to mourn her loss, Writers’ Night at the Merc is BACK. It’s the same Happy Hour social occasion where writers rub elbows over beer and wine but with a new twist: a Special Guest. Each month’s Special Guest will be a working area writer or editor who will talk about writing: from what constitutes a killer pitch to the ineffable essence of a well-made paragraph or the story behind writing a story to, hell, whatever he or she feels like talking to us about. They might even take questions.
The Special Guest for the Tuesday, May 1st Writers’ Night will be Cincinnati Magazine editor-in-chief John Fox, former editor of CityBeat and Soapbox. Fox will announce a new literary space in his magazine as well as invite you to pitch stories. He wants you to know he’s open to pitches and will talk about the kind of stories he’s looking for.
So join us for the reboot of Writers’ Night, the Merc’s happy hour for scribes, happening at 5:30 on the first Tuesday of most months to come.
Reservations requested (so we don’t run out of beverages).
